DaVideo Cataloger

YOUR COLLECTION. EVERY CONNECTION.

Bring order to your videos. Keep their stories connected.

Organize files across drives, connect performers and sites, recognize unknown appearances later, and browse with the context that folders alone cannot give you.

Beyond folders

Your library is more than its filenames.

01

Files scattered across drives

Folders tell you where a file lives. They do not explain every site, participant or connection behind it.

02

People you recognize, but cannot name yet

An unknown face should not mean losing track of its appearances while you discover who it is.

03

A growing collection needs more context

Names, aliases, notes, previews and classification make a library useful—not just a long list of files.

One connected catalog

Find the file. Understand its context.

Start with one personal folder or bring together a collection spread across many drives.

01 / CATALOG

Structure your collection

A five-level catalog, searchable routes and classification that stays separate from physical storage.

02 / IDENTITIES

Connect identities and appearances

Profiles, aliases, galleries and provisional appearances that can later become confirmed identities.

03 / WORKFLOW

Work with your actual files

Review naming proposals, move files, check duplicates and capture frames through explicit workflows.

Five levels. One clear route.

Organize beyond Sites and Subsites.

01

Master Site

Collection umbrella

02

Site

Main catalog identity

03

Subsite

A related branch

04

Section

A deeper grouping

05

Subsection

The most specific level

Search across levels, distinguish shared names by their route, and move or add placements where the catalog rules allow. Your logical hierarchy does not need to match your disk folders.

Unknown today. Connected tomorrow.

A complete workflow for unknown performers.

Catalog first. Identify when you can. Unknown participants stay useful while your knowledge of the collection grows.

01

Record the unknown appearance

Keep a provisional participant linked to the right video, even when you do not know the name.

02

Keep the face and context

Use a local image or a video capture. Add notes without inventing an official identity.

03

Compare and group appearances

Visually review appearances across videos and group the ones you recognize as the same person.

04

Assign the confirmed identity

Once identified, link one appearance or the group to the official profile, preserving photos and note origins.

One person, several videos, a name discovered later. Keep the connections you already collected.

Identification is confirmed by you through visual review. This workflow does not claim automatic facial recognition.

Review before you apply

Names that reflect your catalog.

Analyze proposed names, resolve ambiguous identities and choose component order and capitalization. Apply changes online or prepare pending renames for disconnected drives.

  • Manual corrections and catalog maintenance in one review.
  • Five-level routes and confirmed participants in structured names.
  • Pending renames can be processed when their drive returns online.

Watch. Review. Capture.

A player that belongs to your catalog.

Watch with the profile and classification context close at hand. Open the video card, edit relationships, rate the video and capture useful frames from the same workflow.

  • Playback speed, fullscreen and fine navigation while paused.
  • Use a selected frame as a performer’s face.
  • Single and multiple captures; batch capture for marked videos.

Context worth keeping

Notes that remember who and where.

Write about a video, a participant in that video or a performer in general. Search the context later without mixing people who share a name or treating a scene-specific note as a general profile fact.

Video notes

Keep observations linked to their source video.

Appearance-specific notes

Preserve context for confirmed and still-unknown participants.

General performer notes

Record what you know about the person, without requiring a source video.

Across drives. Within reach.

A collection that outgrows one disk.

01

Browse disconnected drives

Search the stored catalog and open cards even when a drive is offline. Playback and physical changes need the file to be accessible.

02

Move files, keep their relationships

Validate destination and conflicts, move files or folders and update their location while retaining their catalog identity.

03

Compare before removing duplicates

Distinguish confirmed hash matches from probable technical matches. Review candidates and decide what to keep.

Find more. Remember more.

Built for the way you remember your collection.

Search with meaningful filters

Combine five-level classification, performers, online/offline status, tags, categories, notes, captures and unknown appearances. Search by name, alias or video ID.

Build your own tagging rules

Use manual tags, filename keywords and participant-count rules. Review detected tags and recalculate automatic assignments when your rules change.

Bring catalogs in and out through Excel

Export hierarchy and performer profiles, validate a workbook and merge catalog data into another installation. This is catalog exchange, not a complete media-library backup.

Profiles with more than a name

Keep aliases, internal identifiers for namesakes, photos, galleries and related videos. Optional web enrichment depends on configured external tools.

Local data. Clear connections.

Your media stays on your storage.

The desktop catalog and saved images use local storage. Web enrichment contacts external sources, and license activation and validation contact DaVideo’s licensing service. Local storage does not mean every workflow is permanently offline.

Rename, move and delete are explicit file-management actions. Keep backups appropriate to your collection.

Development status

A clear view of what exists today.

Implemented in the current development base

  • Five-level catalog and combined search filters.
  • Performer profiles and unknown-appearance reconciliation.
  • Notes, structured renaming and offline planning.
  • Player, captures, duplicates and file moves.
  • Catalog exchange through Excel and a licensing client.

Preparing the commercial release

  • Final distribution and installer validation.
  • Verified licensing service and commercial terms.
  • Final screenshots, download delivery and documentation.
  • Published requirements and performance measurements.

Features are described from source review. Release availability and final commercial conditions will be confirmed separately. Image generation needs FFmpeg/FFprobe; web enrichment needs its scripts and Python environment.

FAQ

The details that matter.

Can I browse a drive that is disconnected?

Yes. Stored catalog data and available local images can be consulted offline. Playing or modifying a video requires access to its physical file.

How do unknown performers become identified?

Register an unknown appearance, add a face and review it visually. You can identify one appearance or group appearances across videos and assign the official profile later, preserving photos and note context.

Is recognition automatic?

No automatic facial recognition is claimed. You confirm identity through the visual review and reconciliation tools.

Does cataloging change my video files?

Cataloging and physical file operations are distinct. The app also offers explicit renaming, movement and deletion workflows; planned renames can be processed when a drive is online again.

What do thumbnails and captures require?

Generation uses FFmpeg/FFprobe. Browsing stored images and placeholders is different from generating new captures. The commercial package will specify its included dependencies.

Does Excel export the entire library?

The implemented workbook exchanges hierarchy and performer catalogs. Videos, all images and the full database are not exported as one complete library through this workbook.

Does local storage mean no Internet is ever needed?

No. Web enrichment uses external sources, and licensing has online activation and validation. The catalog and media are managed on local storage.

Can I buy or download the commercial release now?

This site preview describes the current development base. A verified commercial download, price and release date are not announced here.
